Cotton On has two distribution centres and another 14 around the world. The Avalon facility will service the company's 400-plus Australian stores as well as online consumers. The 40-hectare Avalon Airport Industrial Precinct is expected to create 750 on-site jobs and another 1100 indirect positions.

Cotton On a Geelong-based fashion company has opened it’s new National Distribution Centre at Avalon Airport, saying the facility will secure the jobs of 300 employees.

Victorian Treasurer and Werribee MP Tim Pallas was joined by Member for Lara and Tourism Minister John Eren at yesterday's launch of the state-of-the-art centre, which is part of the new Avalon Airport Industrial Precinct.

Mr Eren said it will help the airport secure its future as a freight and logistics hub. He said that, ”With nbew carriers, international flights and now Cotton On's relocation, the sky is the limit for the ever-expanding Avalon Airport.”

The gigantic Cotton On NDC is more than three times the length of the Kardinia Park playing field and is capable of handling 300,000 products a day.
