Chandigarh, July 29, To boost self-reliance in defence and contribute to the burgeoning defence exports market, the Ministry of Defence is reaching out to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Tier-II and Tier-III cities and integrating them into the defence supply chain.

New Delhi: The government has decided to launch within a month a portal on the lines of Alibaba in China and Amazon in the US for selling products manufactured by small industries, MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari said in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. 

Textile minister Smriti Irani on Friday said that investors, including those from Assam, have been provided with subsidy under the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (A-TUFS) by the office of textile commissioner.

A Committee constituted by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has submitted its Report to the RBI wherein it has been recommended that the limit for collateral free lending should be increased to Rs.20 lakh for MSMEs and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
