The Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA) will work towards doubling the volume of garment exports from Tiruppur in the next three years, said K.M. Subramanian, who was recently re-elected president of the Association for 2025-2028.
Mr. Subramanian said in the last three years, the Association that has 1,342 members promoted the knitwear cluster of Tiruppur globally as a sustainable production centre. It also took several measures to promote production of synthetic fabrics and garments in Tiruppur.
Several exporters who had high exposure to the U.S. market are hit by the recent tariffs levied by the U.S. and the Association was taking measures to help them revive, he added.
The BJP Tiruppur north president K.C.M. Srinivasan, who felicitated Mr. Subramanian, said the party was constantly updating the Centre of the impact of the U.S. tariff on the garment exporters.
